This is near to the entrance to Island in the Sky (Canyonlands), the 8 mile
detour is well worth doing.
At the bottom you can see the Colorado River and Potash Road (279) that lead to
Shafer Trail that leads to
Shafer Canyon in Canyonlands. In the distance you can see the blue Potash Ponds
and the La Sal Mountains.
