Jamaican Blue Mountain CoffeeApologies to coffee connoisseurs for the following article. But for the rest of us ordinary mortals, here goes. I have visited Jamaica twice and have visited the Blue Mountain factory outlet in Manchester. There are two basic grades, 'High Mountain' and 'Blue Mountain'. The High Mountain is about $3 for 8oz and the Blue Mountain is about two to three times the price in the supermarket in Jamaica. It is a very smooth coffee, probably low in caffeine, but it lacks the nutty flavour of Colombian Coffee. I drank High Mountain or Blue mountain coffee almost every day for five weeks, but the best coffee could be found in the local MacDonalds, which uses Colombian. My favorite coffee happens to be Kirkland Signature, which is 100% Colombian and is available from Costco for about $6/3 lbs. My Canadian friend brings me a three pound tin whenever he comes to England. It is pretty strong with a good Colombian flavour, I even ended up mixing it with some inferior coffee to get it just right for me. Kirkland Signature coffee can be ordered online at Costco.com for about $6 for a 3lb tin plus S&H. I bought Blue Mountain coffee home for my family, they all agreed with me that it was nothing special. My Canadian friend described it as "smooth". Of course the Queen drinks it, but Jamaica was a British colony! BlueMountainCoffeeBeans.Com - low prices $22/lb
