1d and 2d Mulready letter sheets, designed by William Mulready in 1839
these were available for use on 6th May and were sold at 1¼d and 2¼d postage included,
the romantic design was ridiculed and numerous caricatures were produced
the envelopes were withdrawn in Jan 1841 (1d) and April 1841 (2d)
they were replaced by William Wyon's embossed design.
